Casa Stella Country House is set perfectly in the green, lush hills of the Colli Bolognesi, in the splendid Valsamoggia valley just slightly southwest of the wonderfully vibrant food capital of Bologna. Also known in the local dialect as Ca 'di Strala, this elegant country residence has been sympathetically renovated over the years by its current owners, Ryan & Massimo, but has remained in the Maselli-Ferro family for over 300 years.
Upon entering the villa one can admire period furniture and antique chandeliers, alongside beautiful ornaments and objets d'art that tell the history of the people who have lived there in the past when using the villa as their primary Summer residence. It is a welcoming place, brimming with both charm and elegance, and you can be sure that it will offer you a warm welcome, as it has always done with previous guests. A place where time runs slowly and where guests can bask without a worry in the warm afternoon sun. Balmy Summer evenings may be spent in the mature gardens enjoying an aperitivo or a chilled glass of wine or swimming in the pool, whilst admiring the spectacular views over the valley.
The four bedrooms - Primula, Peonia, Rosa and Gardenia - all take their names from
flowers that blossom in the garden. Each bedroom and bathroom is individually
decorated with great attention to detail, using classic colours and rich fabrics/materials
that evoke a memory of the Italian 'DolceVita'. There is no shortage of lounges and cosy
spaces inside the villa, where one can comfortably read a book or relax whilst losing
oneself in an atmosphere of times gone by. The mature gardens, full of flowers and plants, old oak trees, fruit trees and olive trees frame the villa whilst also offering guests secluded areas to enjoy the peace and quiet of Mother Nature. Casa Stella's panoramic swimming pool, for the exclusive use of guests, offers breath taking views across the valley towards Savigno and the surrounding hills. An extensive sunterrace surrounds the panoramic swimming pool, providing guests with ample comfortable spaces to sunbathe.
A short walk away from the villa one can find the picturesque town of Savigno. A warm,
amiable and welcoming community of people who truly understand their food, wine and
the meaning of the word 'Artigianale' or 'Artisanal' in English. From truffle (Tartufo) to
wine (Pignoletto being the local wine of choice), whilst not also forgetting Parmesan
cheese and delicious cured meats (Salumi), you are always guaranteed to be taken on a
gastronomical voyage of magical discovery.
Casa Stella sleeps up to 7 people maximum.
On the ground floor of the villa there is a large central lounge with dining room. A
separate fire place lounge (fireplace is decorative and cannot be used). Another lounge,
with TV etc, is located in the East wing of the villa. A fully fitted kitchen with gas hob,
electric oven, dish washer and fridge/freezer. Washing machine and tumble dryer are
located in the utility room outside.
The bedrooms, all on the first floor, are comprised of the following:
3 large double bedrooms: 40m2 in size. All bedrooms have views of the garden towards
the hills. Featuring a super king or king size bed, sofa or seating area with antique
terracotta flooring and period lighting. Each bedroom has a luxury ensuite bathroom,
